Handcrafted Log Home - Fairplay, Colorado

Finished in 2009, this handcrafted log home was built with Colorado logs that are 10”-12” in diameter. Built as a “hybrid” log home, the main level walls are full-round logs, with the upper level traditionally framed (stick-framed) with 2”x6” exterior walls and cedar siding. Rather than building the home with upper-level log walls and a log roof support structure, this approach can help to reduce overall construction costs, while still retaining the feeling of warmth and coziness that you look for in a log home. We also included some additional log accents and Knotty Pine tongue & groove ceilings on this level to tie into the log cabin theme.
